This is the page where I post notes
about what’s happening. I intend to keep the notes at least somewhat
up to date. Then again, I intend to join the Procrastinator’s Club.
Anyway, here’s the news:

My
Calendar is Open for Bookings during the Winter
From
January 1st though the end of April my calendar is
wide open for bookings, including weekends. During this time my
primary band, Mike Dugan & the Blues Mission, takes its annual
winter hiatus as Mike spends the winter in Florida. We play some
gigs in Florida, but for the most part I winter here in the
Northeast.
A word of edification to our fans: Mike Dugan has
built his 2nd passion, golf, into a 2nd job.
His excitement about the dramatic impact of Natural Golf™
to his game was such that it inspired him to become a disciple of
the Natural Golf™
method. He worked hard to put himself through golf school and become
certified as a teaching pro. Mike now teaches golf, in addition to
playing and teaching the guitar for a living. Mike spends the winter
in Florida in order to avoid having to abandon his 2nd
passion/job until spring. You just don’t get many golf students in
the ice and snow, and you can play the guitar anywhere.

Drummer
Don Plowman has left the Blues Mission (January 2007)
All things must pass and now, so too has Don Plowman’s tenure as the drummer for Mike Dugan & the Blues Mission. Don has been trying to squeeze his drumming gigs into his spare time, and that’s a tough horse to ride. During his twenty years with the U.S. Navy Band Don was a full-time musician, but now he has a full-time day job as a financial planner. Many is the time that Don has arisen early in the morning to go to work at his office, left work early to go to an out-of-town gig, and got home so late that he barely had time for a nap.
Don loved working with us, and we with him. But when an opening appeared for a drummer with The Craig Thatcher Band, an excellent local band that works almost exclusively on weekends and stays close to home, Don realized that God was trying to tell him something, and he suddenly found himself astonishing our friend and colleague Craig Thatcher by applying for the position.
It’s been a great ride, and we wish Don the best with his new endeavor. As for us, the timing was good because it gives us time to fill the position. We are seeking applicants and will be interviewing candidates. Anyone interested in applying for the position of drummer for Mike Dugan & the Blues Mission may

I don’t want to miss you ...
In the course of
my work I meet so many people that I sometimes have trouble sorting
out who is who. It can get downright embarrassing. I have
momentarily forgotten the names of people that I’ve known all of my
life. Please be aware that the filing system in my brain can get
overloaded. If you come out to a gig and I don’t seem to realize
that you are there, there may be several reasons. When I’m at a gig,
I am working, and I must give full attention to my work. Even if I
see you, I may not get to you because others may commandeer my time. And,
alas, it’s even possible that I may not register right away who you
are.
If you come to
see me and I fail to acknowledge you, please come over and say “Hi”.
I’m glad you came, and I would rather suffer the embarrassment of
having you remind me who you are, than miss you.

Lehigh Valley
Music Awards
I would like to
extend thanks to all who supported me for the Best Bass Player
award. With such a wealth of talent in the Lehigh Valley, I never
expected such an honor. Striving to uplift spirits and impart a
degree of beauty through music is my life’s work, and to imagine
that my artistic endeavors are well received is extremely
gratifying. God bless you all.
